Petrus Plancius left his mark
He did it to us for four centuries ago. He found his way on earth, did all he met to map and made sure everything and everyone arrived at their destination. Nowadays we do this too. But slightly different.
Then Peter Plancius was a famous astronomer, cartographer, preacher and pioneer in the field of navigation at sea. He drew more than 100 maps and arranged with his work that everyone arrived at the right destination. From 1552 to 1622 Peter explored the earth. His favorite tool at sea was the sea astrolabe. An instrument with which he, with thanks the north pole star, could determine the geographic latitude. His role as a central collection of information was of great significance for cartographers. He was spiritual father of the Orbis Terrarum Typus De Integro Multis In Locis Emendatus; one the first complete world maps.
Now Plancius on her turn is also a leader in the field of point of sale- and point of contact-support. Now both world's largest companies, brands, non-profit organizations and small businesses can trust on Plancius every day for a proper implementation. Since 1995 Plancius is fully involved with its customers every day again. Now the astrolabe made way for GPS and PDA’s, in order to guide our merchandisers to and through their assignments. Plancius offers its customers its expertise in store checks and merchandising and makes therefore a beacon and source of information that companies always can fall back on. Today Plancius navigate through all of Europe using the most modern tools.
